Our relationship with TSUBAMEDIA
The running of TSUBAMEDIA, its editorial policy, the planning and production of its articles and the final editorial decisions are the responsibility of Japan Bansho Co., Ltd.
Researchers, specialists, producers, companies and public bodies often help us with interviews and information. Their cooperation does not mean that they, or the institutions they belong to, have supervised or approved what we publish.
Final responsibility for the content of our articles rests with Japan Bansho Co., Ltd.
Our relationship with the edible bird’s nest business
Japan Bansho Co., Ltd. runs the edible bird’s nest brand “BANSHO” and handles products made from edible bird’s nest.
TSUBAMEDIA is not, therefore, a publication run by a third party unconnected to the edible bird’s nest business.
We do not hide that relationship. Being transparent about it matters to us.
Where we write about our own products, research or activities, and where we have a commercial or other relationship with a research institution or company mentioned in an article, we state that relationship in a way the reader can see.
On sales and advertising
TSUBAMEDIA does not sell products directly.
Nor do we carry advertising paid for by third parties, or ranking articles that place particular products in order.
What we do write about is Japan Bansho’s own work, through sections such as “From Bansho”.
Even then, rather than simply recommending our own products, we try to publish the background and the process as fully as we can: Where did it come from? How was it made? How is its quality controlled? What problems remain?
What we are aiming at
Edible bird’s nest comes from the natural world.
There are swiftlets. There is an environment. There are people living where it is produced, and a culture and an industry handed down over a long time.
As a company that handles edible bird’s nest, Japan Bansho believes that delivering products is not the whole of the job — that learning about the nature, the people, the culture and the science surrounding edible bird’s nest, telling others, and carrying it into the future is part of our role too.
TSUBAMEDIA is the place we do that.
